Employee Engagement is Serious Business

Many recent employee surveys indicate that between 50% and 70% of employees are not fully engaged at work. Here are five reasons why more effectively engaging employees is important.

1)     Employees who are engaged are more productive. Increasing employee productivity helps to increase the bottom line.

2)     Customer satisfaction increases as employees become more engaged. Satisfied customers are the lifeblood of every business.

3)     Higher levels of employee engagement indicate higher levels of employee satisfaction. Satisfied employees will stay with you longer. Hiring and training new employees is expensive and time consuming.

4)     Employee engagement is infectious and leads to an increase in teamwork. Improved teamwork increases a company’s effectiveness and overall productivity.

5)     The cost to engage employees is small. The cost of employees who are not engaged is far greater in terms of lost productivity and poor customer satisfaction.
