A major plumbing hardware manufacturer wanted to increase sales and loyalty of independent Distributor Sales Reps (DSRs).  The manufacturer also wanted more information about their channel customers, including product mix, market-by-market penetration and end-user pricing.

 

Vanson Solution

Vanson developed a program that rewards DSRs for sales, and created a learn-and-earn education portal that provides detailed product videos and earning opportunities for completing product knowledge quizzes.

  • Enrolled DSRs upload a completed sales report form and invoice.

  • Award points are calculated and deposited into the DSR’s award account.

  • DSRs can watch product videos and complete product knowledge quizzes to earn bonus award points.

  • Manufacturer receives online reports showing detailed program results for all DSR participants, and a report with end-user data (product sold, product mix, etc.).

Results

The program has been running for almost 10 years and continues to add double-digit sales increases and more DSRs each year. Approximately 50% of the DSRs participate in the program, and most of those are actively involved in Learn-and-Earn. The manufacturer is able to gain a significant amount of market intelligence based on the uploaded sales invoices.
