An effective Program Strategy must reflect a deep understanding of business objectives, program goals, the target customer, and the supporting financial model.   For example, program design may differ based on whether the primary goal is a customer conquest strategy, a growth strategy, or a retention strategy.   It is often useful to define how a program will be measured – what are the key metrics?  Many clients find value in defining ‘use cases’ to articulate how a program will be executed.    A program business case can define expected business value, and identify financial constraints for the program.   Once these steps are tackled, the actual work of defining program mechanics can begin.

Optimal program implementation benefits from a strong program design.   Well-defined business requirements followed by a rigorous implementation process are critical enablers of timely and cost-effective program implementation.
